Stern Pinball has released the first photos of their next pinball – The Walking Dead – you can check it out here.

Pinburgh 2015 is going to take place July 30 – August 2, 2015.  The annual Pinburgh match play tournament is going to take place as part of Replayfx.  Pinburgh is limited to 400 participants.  Last year, the 400 spots sold out in 1.5 hours which was a record.  As a result, you can expect that people are going to place their orders right at noon on December 7. 2014.  The cost for Pinburgh is $104.99.  Save your pennies and mark your calendar.

We are starting our fourth season on September 9, 2014.  At this point, we are full with 20 players and we have a couple of people who are waiting to take any spots that open up.  We are going to try to figure out a way to increase the league membership, but we are limited by space as we play on private collections.  This season we have added a third private location which may open up all three locations for more public/non-league tournaments.  

John Popadiuk is pinball designer known for some of the most inventive pinball machines ever made.  He just posted directions to build the cart he has been using since his Bally days.  When he worked at Bally, the designers were required to build their own carts.

Something else to go on your calendar for 2015.  This will be the first ReplayFX and it sounds like it is going to be great.  The people behind PAPA are working their magic to make a huge gaming convention.  Think the PAPA facilty, make it bigger and add arcade, console and hand held video games.  It will take place on July 30-August2, 2015.  Put it on your calendar now.  More info here.  

On December 20, 2014, Kevin Stone will have the fourth quarter pinholics tourney.  The next day, Joe and Cristin have a follow-up tournament.  Two days and two tournaments.  Last year, I heard many, many good things about the food Cristin cooked up.  Do your shopping early!  Info is here.  

Kevin Stone, damn good player and nice guy, hosts a quarterly tournament on Saturdays in his home arcade.  I think he is up to 14 players now.  The competition is always good and I have heard it is always a fun time too with some very late night pinball.  Info is here and here.  

Last year, Kevin hosted the Virginia IFPA state championship playoffs so this is a good chance to get some time in and learn his machines.  

Austin Mackert is a skilled player (and nice guy) in Northern Virginia who is hosting a tournament on October 4, 2014 starting at noon. The details can be found here.

Trudeau interview

This is a panel discussion with a John Trudeau from the 2013 Southern Fried Gameroom Expo.  John Trudeau has been in pinball for a long time and is responsible for Creature From the Black Lagoon and Stern’s latest, Mustang.  The Southern Fried Gameroom Expo was held this summer in Atlanta.  This was the first year for the expo and it sounds lie it went very well and should be on the list of things to attend 6/19-6/21/15.  It included an IFPA tournament which was broadcast on papatv.
